Woolacombe Bay

Woolacombe beach is regularly recognised as one of the top ten beaches in the world. With 3 miles of sand stretching across to Putsborough beach, it is big enough for both families and water sport enthusaists to enjoy! With enough shops, eateries and activity centres to satisfy the many holidaymakers and day-trippers, Woolacombe remains remarkably unspoilt.

The adjoining village of Mortehoe is a pretty stone built village which has many ancient buildings including a 13th Century church and was even mentioned in the Doomsday book.

This area is also a walker’s paradise, with pub lunches and ice creams to keep up the energy levels!

Activities

There are many places to hire watersports equipment in Woolacombe, which has a variety of activities on offer. The award-winning beach is ideal for surfers, kite-surfers, canoeists, body boarders, swimmers, and even paragliders or hang gliders.
