Adventure Sports
We are currently building a section dedicated to adventure sports that promises to get the adrenaline pumping! From events, reviews, image galleries, details on lessons, guided tours of the coast, equipment hire, to info on serious endurance competitions. Ilfracombe Princess
I'd been meaning to take a boat trip along the coastline of North Devon for years, but had never got around to it. Coast - Coast Challenge
206 riders took part in the 2009 event, held on Sunday June 7th 2009. Starting in Woolacombe, outside the famous Red Barn, the event had stops at Libbaton Golf Club, North Tawton, Exeter and finishing to the sounds of Street Heat Samba band at Dawlish Warren. The North Devon AONB Marathon
There hasn't been a marathon event in North Devon for some 20 years. And there has certainly never been one as spectacular, beautiful and challenging as this! Centred around the idyllic Woolacombe beach, these two races (half and full marathons) give runners the opportunity to compete on North Devon Coast Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). GoldCoast Oceanfest 2010
The single largest event in the North Devon festival, hosting over 500 athletes competing for 10 freesports titles in the coastal playground of Croyde Bay. Showcasing over 25 live music acts on stage with top international artists, adjacent to the oceanside Croyde arena hosting a Trade Village incorporating licensed bars & global cuisine. Grassroots events and pro workshops, adrenalin zones, workshops, exhibitions, sampling booths, simulators and hospitality suites, all adding to the eclectic ambience of the event. More >>
Storm Watching
The weather always fascinates, and never ceases to amaze us; from unexpected hail storms and flash floods, to heatwaves and hurricanes. The Storm-watching season, from November to March, is a relatively new (though virtually free) ‘visitor attraction’, but locals have been enjoying the spectacular sights and sounds of high winds and powerful waves, for years.
