Art Installation by Alain Kurylo From the talented French artist Alain Kurylo, an exciting new outdoor installation of Sculptural Silhouettes shaped in steel and ceramic figures on the floodplain at Broomhill. The Broomhill Gallery features work from the North Devon Arts group in the Small Square Pictures Show plus see a new exhibition called Coastal Sceneries, displaying pieces from the Broomhill painters (free entry).

King Canute fights the tide! Come and support “Britain’s Got Talent” semi-finalist, MERLIN CADOGAN, perform an incredible feat of stamina and endurance to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West. Merlin will be chained for 72 hours to a throne, which will become submerged for 2 hours each high tide.

The fantastic new family picnic and play area, ‘The Brash’, at RHS Garden Rosemoor in Great Torrington was officially opened on 27 May 2009 with a ‘Bangers and Brash Party’, and despite the weather being rainy on the actual day, the area was enjoyed by all in the lovely sunny days that followed during May Half Term!

Coast-coast challenge
This year's Devon Coast to Coast Challenge took place Sun 7th June with a (70 or 100 mile) route taking riders from Woolacombe to Dawlish Warren. WildCurl had a team of five take up the challenge, it was great fun and we can't wait for the next one! A big thanks to the organisers of the event (and the helpers), not only was a brilliant time had by all but they made it possible to raise funds for a very worthy, local charity, The North Devon Hospice. The event has so far raised over £30,000 for local North Devon charities. More >>
Llama Festival
The Llama Festival at the weekend (June 12 - 14) was a big hit with the thousands of visitors that crowded into the numerous venues pumping out sweet tunes. The feeling of Summer was in the air, we were entertained by bands and DJ's playing a range of musical genres from Bhangra With A Twist to Indi/Folk, Ska and Reggae.

Britain’s Got Talent
North Devon's Merlin Cadogan did a great job getting through to the semi final of Britain’s Got Talent in May. Merlin wowed the crowd on the popular ITV show last week with his juggling and escapology act! Merlin has been performing regular eductaional children's shows at The Milky Way. More >>
